shoulda posted ten last night when i put it up on jbf. but in my defense, i was rushing to post before gossip girl began, so, i barely had time to get that up let alone coming over here and putting things together.  i mean.  gossip girl trumps life.  so.  clearly it also trumps posting my fanfic.

sigh.  that penn badgley.  i almost don’t even care about his crazy internet past he’s so cute and nerdy.

anyway.  ten is up.

i’m working on nineteen.  the series of chapters starting with, like, sixteen is kind of intense.  its all important and i just really, really do not want to fuck it up.  so its stressing me out.  and they’re taking longer than i expected.  i mean, considering they are most of the reason i decided to write this story, they’re shockingly slow in coming along.  but its all cool.  i just want them to be right.  to do justice to what i believe about joe and aisling.  and hopefully, i’ll get them there.

enough of my rambling/whining.

i’m in the thick of seventeen.  and its giving me hell.  but that’s okay.  seventeen is part of a group of like…four of five really important chapters, so its worth the effort to get it right.

btw.  i’m still working on something top secret.  such a bad girl, i am.

for now this bad girl is going to go have a glass of wine, make some dinner, and park in front of ugly betty/greys.  yay for the new season of television (even though i know i’ll have stopped remembering to watch about two weeks from now).

and aimless conversations bout the better days

a new piece of short fiction is posted, its entitled ‘home at last’ and it features old jonas   you can find it (gasp) under short fiction over there on the right –>

i’m working on every word i say.  promise.  hopefully i’ll have eight edited for posting in the next day or so.  i just want to work a bit more on sixteen/seventeen before i do that.  they’re mostly written, as they have been since i got a burst of inspiration WEEKS ago.  (actually, i’m not gonna lie.  it was easily a month.  these were the first scenes i ever wrote for the story.)  i just kind of need to polish and reshape so that they work with the flow of the story as it exists today.

my building is under construction right now.  the apartment next door, specifically.  which is fun.  because i love it when my walls shake so violently that i wonder if the kitchen cabinets might fall off.

sigh.  city life.

chapter eight of every word i say is posted.

i made ridiculous progress the other day on the story.  i finally broke through thirteen/fourteen, and then all of a sudden i had fifteen and sixteen completed too.  there’s definitely work to be done, but i’m glad i at least finished the chapters.  once my beta takes a look and we talk about it i know i’ll feel much better.  sometimes you just get so bogged down in the details of your own work that you can’t see the forrest for the trees.

i spent most of my day on a bench in central park near bethesda fountain people watching.  these two young blonde surfer looking guys set up shop about 10 feet away from my bench and broke out with their guitars.  between the quality of the early fall sunlight and the falling temperature, when those boys started playing norweigan wood i was positive i was in valhalla.  or shangri la.  or heaven.  whichever.

i wish i could do a scene with joe and aisling there, at bethesda.  its one of my favorite places on earth.

for now its back to the sauce i’m trying to reduce and my glass of red wine.

want a taste of something that doesn’t leave me dry

i’m doing this twitter-style:

luca completely started writing something she should be ashamed of.  in a really hot way.  approximately one day ago.

you had my heart on your plate (you stopped loving me so fast)

six and seven, posted.

i was a space cadet and forgot to put up six back when i posted it on jbf on monday night.  but it’s up now!  and seven too.

i’m dying.  my beta reader has a life.  as she should.  and i need her guidance on thirteen/fourteen.  because frankly, i just need to get them done.  i need thirteen and fourteen to do their jobs and a) drop some important information and b) get me the hell outta dodge and into the part of the story i really want to write.  joe and aisling are just torturing me.  seriously.

also.  i’m dying because i’ve been such a recluse lately.  the closest i’ve gotten to actually going out was saturday night.  oh, and saturday night i went out drinking with my little(big) brother.  he’s a 6′4 former college lacrosse player who is also fiercely protective and melts down if a guy so much as looks at me for too long.  some dude almost lost his head when he leaned over to my brother and said, in reference to me, “that’s the hottest redhead i’ve ever seen.”  (also, my brother and i both have red hair and look greatly similar to each other.  so.  dumbass guy.)  needless to say saturday night was not terribly socially productive.

five is posted.

i am on my way to philly.  weekend with the brother and his fiance (drinking and a phillies game at the least).  i’m hoping to meet some of the bridesmaids, since she’s going to have friends in from out of town too.  we’ll see how it goes.  but i’m looking forward to it.

then its the annual conference.  i’m working AV (haha) to help out and probably spending the nights coding websites to try and catch up on the work i’m missing while i handle the conference.  fun times.

here’s to hoping i get some time to edit.  and to write…god, its killing me that its taking so long to just get to the good stuff!  oh the frustrations of a writer who loves her characters.

also.  go listen to middle of nowhere acoustic on h.net.  so good.  esp my fave trio of songs madelina/minute without you/lucy.  sigh.  those boys.  they still get me.

i posted the next chapter of ewis, four, last night.  i was just…too tired to post here.  frankly, i wasn’t in the mood for much of anything last night.  i’m surprised i was able to finish editing and post at all.  between the long trip back from pennsylvania and the date on the calendar and the hard work it took to avoid seeing something that would bring the worst back to me…i didn’t even have the energy to read a book before i went to sleep.  and i love the book i’m reading right now (age of innocence, wharton).

but anyway.  moving on.

four is posted.  and i’m writing like a crazy woman.  i’m through twelve already.  and writing snippets that i’ll weave in later as the inspiration hits me (like a joe/aisling arguement that i’m working on right now).  i hope i can get something up…maybe tomorrow before i head back to pennsylvania for work (philly this time).

i can never promise that you’ll never be lonely

chapter three of ‘every word i say’ is live.  i stressed about the editing on that one.  like, a lot.  more than usual.  hopefully, it turned out.  i think it was worth the time.

we’ll see how the week turns out, if i can get through editing four.  i made myself promise to write at least one new chapter for each one i edit and post.  i just finished eleven, so now i have to figure out what the heck is going to happen in twelve!

i’m still out of town on business and probably will be solidly through next tuesday, so that’s definitely messing with my plans.

the more you justify the more i see right through

so.  please forgive the fact that ‘every word i say’ is posted in a weird format that isn’t as good as ‘dear maisie.’  wordpress and i are having some issues in our relationship, and instead of fixing them i’m just working around them.  classic.

chapter two has been posted, and now the links to both chapter one and chapter two should actually work.  speaking of work, i’m hard at it on chapter three.  it’s complete.  it’s just…in editing mode.  it’s into its second full draft, and it’ll probably take a few more tweaks.  but nothing major.  perhaps tonight?

i guess it just depends on how my day shapes up.  i’m out of town on business pretty much all week, so things are a bit unpredictable.  especially since i’m staying with family, so i’m surrounded by a crowd of rowdy under-ten-year-olds whenever i’m not at work.
